It's 1.37 AM right now....

Today from morning to night, i was cracking my brain finding ways to play a DVD movie using my dvd writer, its Samsung just to let u noe. And u must be wondering y is something so simple is giving me a headache. Anyway i rent a dvd movie frm a video shop and normally i would use my PS2 to play it. To my surprise it cant be played, it prompt something like wrong dvd region. I was like WTH!!! WHAT REGION??!!! (ok tat was my 1st reaction). OK den i calmly read the specs and it says that my mod PS2 is RESTRICTED to play dvd only from region 1 which is frm UK or US. Whereas the dvd i'm trying play is frm region 3 which is from southeast asia obviously. Tried several cracks method to lift the reStricted region but to no avail. So i turned to my PC and this is where all the problems starts. I insert my dvd into the drive and NOTHING happens, and so i tot it must be the region thingy again sooo did some searching and i find out that my dvd writer is set to region 3 by default. So whats the PROBLEM??!!! (at this moment i'm beginning to hate desktop).

STEPS I'VE TAKEN

1) Updated my firmware (10 am)

1.1) It's STILL NOT working. (10.30 am)

2) Browse thru countless forums for tips or cracks

2.1) Finally found somethings useful (2 pm)

3) Download a software called Region X(X= any region) (2.45pm)

3.1) Install it.....then reboot the pc (3.15 pm)

4) Taking a break to avoid MYOPIA

5) Tried playing the dvd but problem not solve (5 pm)

5.1) Download countless so called proven softwares (6 pm)

6) Given up...so went out to drink Bubble Tea (7.15 pm)

7) Returned make my life miserable dvd movie and wasting my $4...argh (9pm)

8) Got home and tried to do 1 last searching and found a custom firmware patch. (10pm)

8.1) Was told to install at user own risk, coz wrong patch may result to dvd writer become completely unusable.

8.2) WTH juz install it...and so i did

8.3) REBOOTED PC~ at this moment i'd totally GIVEN UP

8.4) Tried to play other region 3 dvd movies that i have (11 pm)

9) IT WORKS....oh great it works after i've returned the dvd (11.15 pm)

AND THAT IS HOW I SPEND MY TUESDAY........AND TRULY TUESDAY BLUES..dammit!!!

A WASTE OF TIME.

ps: for those of u who needs the links to firmware download lemmi noe. Btw i'm using a Samsung SH-S182D ~ other than this problem, its burning speed is a thumbs up...what a day!
